I am interested in music informatics, and am currently working on computational music analysis. I am intrigued by formalizing processes in music theory and music analysis to the point where they can be implemented as efficient algorithms.
Various other terms to describe what I am interested in might be computer music, music and artificial intelligence, or automated music perception.
