About
I'm a second year PhD student in Computer Science at UMass Amherst.
I'm working with Andrew McCallum, as part of the Information Extraction and Synthesis Lab, and with Andy Barto, as part of the Autonomous Learning Lab, on using various reinforcement learning techniques for inference on large factor graphs. I've also been working on FACTORIE. Over last summer, I worked on some interesting machine learning problems within Rexa.
Before I started my PhD, I interned for two semesters at Google Pittsburgh, where I got a chance to apply machine learning to some of the biggest data sets available. Before Google, I finished my MS in Computer Science from Vanderbilt in May 2007, where I worked with Doug Fisher and got my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from NSIT in 2004.
I grew up in New Delhi, India, and graduated from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in 2000.
